What is plagiarism ?

Plagiarism means presenting someone else's work or ideas as your own,with or without their consent,by incorporating it into your work without full acknowledgement.All published and unpublished material,whether in manuscript,printed or electronic form,is covered under this definition.There are many types of plagiarism such as direct plagiarism,self plagiarism,mosaic plagiarism and accidental plagiarism.


Direct Plagiarism

Direct Plagiarism is the word-for-word transcription of a section of someone else's work,without attribution and without quotation marks.The deliberate plagiarism of someone else's work is unethical.


Self Plagiarism 


Self-plagiarism means reusing work that you have already published or submitted for a class.It can involved resubmitting an entire paper,copying or paraphrasing passages from your previous work,recycling previously collected data and separately publishing multiple articles about the same research.


Mosaic Plagiarism


Mosaic plagiarism is one of the main common types of plagiarism.Mosaic plagiarism means when a student borrows phrases from a source without using quotation marks,or find synonyms for the author’s language while keeping to the same general structure and meaning of the original.


Accidental Plagiarism


Accidental plagiarism means plagiarizing the content unintentionally.It commonly occurs due to the lack of proper citations or wrong citations,forgetting or neglecting to quote or accidentally using the same phrases or similar combinations of words as given in the original.


Avoiding Plagiarism

Most people will have problem on how to avoid plagiarism in their daily activities.For the big question,how to avoid from plagiarism ? These are some solution on how we can avoid plagiarism :

- Don’t procrastinate with your research and assignments.Please remember that good research takes time.

- Commit to doing your own work.If you don’t understand an assignment,talk with your professor.

- Be 100% scrupulous in your note taking.

- Cite your sources scrupuslously.

- Understand good paraphrasing.


About Grade Point Average

Grade Point Average is a number that indicates how high you scored in your courses on average.Using a scale from 1.0 to 4.0,your GPA tracks your progress during your studies.This number is used to assess whether you meet the standards and expectations set by the university.


How to calculate GPA ?

To calculate your GPA,divide the total number of grade points earned by the total number of letter graded units undertaken.










What is the different between GPA and CGPA ?

CGPA stands for The Cumulative Grade Point Average is a mechanism to evaluate a university graduate's knowledge in Malaysia.GPA stands for Grade Point Average which is a student's mark and grade for each semester.It is calculated based on marks for each subject taken for a semester.
